Join our campaign to end health sexism #feelourpain
Never has it felt like campaigning for women’s equality has been more important, and getting equal access, equal treatment and equal respect when it comes to our health is one element we feel particularly passionate about.
There have been some shocking revelations in the past 12 months in this area, from the poorer care females with dementia receive to a worrying report which revealed women who present in A&E with identical abdominal pain to men wait longer, and are far more likely to be misdiagnosed with mental health problems, and perceived as irrational and emotional. In fact, pain conditions, which disproportionately affect women, are underfunded and overlooked as a whole.
The UK falls outside the top 20 places globally to give birth, with women more than twice as likely to die in pregnancy and childbirth than in other developed countries, mental health conditions are on the rise among young women, and medical research often overlooks women completely, meaning treatments are tailored to men’s needs, and simply adjusted to apply to women.
This isn’t good enough. If you agree, we’d love you to join our campaign and lobby the All Party Parliamentary Group on Women’s Health to address these core issues: pain, reproductive health, gynaecological conditions, mental health, and medical research.

The fight back starts here!
