Following the launch of their vegan, plant-protein-powered Green Fingers range, we meet the brains behind Nails Inc, Thea Green, to talk all things beauty, health, and happiness…
Tell us how Nails Inc was born…?
Being an Editor, I was travelling back and forth from the USA and was so impressed by the speedy, efficient nail bars over there. They just didn’t exist in the UK. Even in the States, though, nobody was doing it with a fashionable, high-quality nail product – there was no brand leader. I was inspired to launch both a nail product and service. I think of Nails Inc as much of a fashion brand as I do a beauty company.
What inspired the Green Fingers range?
There is so much focus nowadays on wellbeing and being the best version of yourself, so we thought what better way to join in than to keep your nails super healthy in the most natural way. Creating the Green Fingers range has been an exciting journey, leading the perception of nail polish down a green, natural path, which I’m so excited for people to try!
How does the Green Fingers formula work?
The collection uses a revolutionary formula, which uses bio-sourced technology derived from plant proteins. It’s vegan and free from parabens and gluten and is breathable, too. It’s also enriched with vitamins and minerals, too, so all-round goodness!
Why a vegan range?
We’re passionate about keeping our products as clean and planet-friendly as we can, as well as being totally cruelty-free.
There are 12 colours in the range, which is your favourite?
I love the pale pink. This time of year I’m in love with pastels – which are super on-trend!
Tell us a little about yourself – how do you stay fit, happy and healthy?
It is very hard to have a set routine as I travel a lot, but I always make time to go for a run and I love Japanese food! For me, having a work/life balance is the key to happiness.
Any guilty pleasures/your favourite indulgences?
Watching Coronation Street…
What motivates you as a businesswoman?
I’m constantly watching the trends and seeing huge change in our business: from the influx of social media and the impact it’s having on the way we communicate with our customers, to seeing other women take the lead and continue to grow our economy.
What does the future hold for Nails Inc?
We’ve just launched the next generation of Nails Inc – INC.redible cosmetics, an innovative cosmetic range. There is so much fun you can have with cosmetics and, just like with nails, there is an opportunity to experiment with different formats, effects and high-pigment colours. We have just moved into a full cosmetics range and will be continuously adding to the range, just like we do at Nails Inc. We just want to create INC.redible products that our customers love to wear.
